Our Partner Organizations

The heart of what we do.

ATHEFA can exist only because of our Partner Organizations.

Our partners are not simply referral sources. They are the local knowledge base that helps ATHEFA understand student need, community context, risk, and potential. Because they work directly with disadvantaged youth, Partner Organizations help identify students who may have the ability and motivation to succeed in higher education, but lack the financial means, family support, or local opportunity to continue.

Partner Organizations help ATHEFA:

• identify promising first-generation students with genuine financial need;

• provide cultural, educational, and community context during the scholarship review process;

• confirm that a student’s higher education plan is realistic, appropriate, and locally relevant;

• support the responsible use of scholarship funds;

• help monitor student progress, wellbeing, and changing needs over time; and

• ensure ATHEFA’s work remains locally grounded, culturally informed, and accountable to the communities we serve.

Each Partner Organization also appoints a representative to ATHEFA’s Partner and Cultural Advisory Council. The Council provides locally grounded guidance on cultural context, community needs, scholarship policies, and program implementation. As ATHEFA grows, former Scholarship Recipients may also join the Council, ensuring that the experiences of both local partners and scholars continue to inform our work.

All Partner Organizations complete an in-depth due diligence process before joining ATHEFA and are subject to ongoing checks to ensure continued transparency, accountability, and alignment with our mission.
